April 26, 2000 - about five years ago, my family lost everything in a fire. It was a pretty tough time, but we were so lucky that everyone survived. Despite the difficult circumstances, the kindness that my neighbors, my church, and my school showed my family was unbelievable. We were given a place to stay until we found housing, given donations of clothing (as the only thing I had left to wear was my nightgown), and gift certificates to various stores such as Wal-mart and Sam’s Club.
In the name of that kindness, I ask my kind readers to donate to any of the various funds. You can donate to Red Cross or find organizations to donate to on Yahoo!. Our friends in LA and MS are going through a pretty tough time right now, and they’re in our prayers.
