Graduation can be an intimidating time. I was incredibly anxious to start life because drifting inbetween is incredibly unappealing. So, I came to New York City with an internship at E-Standards Forum, an organization that rates countries according to financial an economic standards. I enjoy the work that I do very much so. George Vojta, my boss, is both charismatic and engaging. It’s inspiring to work with him, as he makes me feel like what I’m doing is making a difference.
My current project is Senegal, I’ve been working on it with Cassie., and Mali and Senegal will be the first low-income country profile on E-Standards Forum. Yesterday we had a meeting with Emory Alumni Relations Directors, Josh and Marcial. Josh, it turned out was a member of Midtown Rotary, the very same Rotary Club that endorsed me as a scholar applicant to Rotary.
Through the Ambassadorial Scholarship program, I will be getting a Masters (Maitrise) at L’Universite Cheikh Anta Diop De Dakar. I will be located in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, and studying something along the lines of Economic Development and Political Science. I do hope to help out with the GEEK Corps project that is going on there, when I’m not participating in Rotary events.
